- In accordance with the Key outcomes from the Third Meeting of the Permanent Conference of Organized Crime Prosecutors, held in Rome, 12-13 October 2017 , the Secretariat of the Permanent Conference of Organized Crime Prosecutors was established in the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime in Belgrade, The Republic of Serbia

Key results of the Fourth Meeting of the Permanent Conference of Organized Crime Prosecutors Implementation of the Belgrade "Declaration of Intent"

Skopje, June 30, 2018

 

 

Meeting objective:

 

- Assist prosecutors for organized crime in the region and Western Europe to further improve their mutual co-operation in the fight against organized crime.

 

- Exchange experiences and receive news in the field of terrorism and organized crime, especially trafficking in firearms and financial investigations.

 

- Improve practical modalities for the implementation of the Declaration of Intent signed in Belgrade on May 26, 2016.

 

Meeting goals:

 

- Further improvement of the work of the organs of the Permanent Conference of Organized Crime Prosecutors

 

- Taking into account the use of advanced technology solutions such as Icloud platform in the information exchange.

 

- Exchange of best practices and experiences in the fight against organized crime.

 

- Creating closer professional contacts among practitioners from different countries.

 

 

 

Key meeting outcomes:

 

- Adoption of the composition of the members Executive Management board of the permanent conference of organized crime prosecutors - 4 members, one representative of the previous, present and future host country of the conference, as well as the representative of the host country of the Secretariat - Secretariat to send a letter to the designated countries to determine their representative and scope of work - implementation of the conclusions , selecting topics for the next meeting, coordinating the work of the Secretariat

 

- The principle of holding permanent conference meetings was adopted - one in a non-EU country, next in the EU Member State and were decided that Secretariat should contact the competent authorities of Hungary in order of holding the next meeting

 

- To submit the relevant legal provisions of the national legislation to the Secretariat by September 1, 2018, after which, with the assistance of the OSCE, an appropriate website or publication will be made

 

- Invite Greece to join the Permanent Conference of Organized Crime Prosecutors

 

- To conduct training in financial investigations in Italy for prosecutors, police and customs officials from several countries
 

 

 

 

Conference legacy:

- Proposal by Mr. Michele Del Prete, Deputy Prosecutor, DNA, holding a technical meeting in Rome with regard to a secure information exchange system Icloud Platform, which, in addition to representatives of the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime, should be attended by representatives of the Ministry of Justice

 

-In the countries where there are legal restrictions on the use of new technologies to be discussed at the national level, the present representatives could not immediately give their consent to participate in that meeting. It was agreed to send a letter of invitation from the competent authorities of Italy, in which all the relevant information about platform will be described and presented, and which letter will be sent to the representatives of the countries through the Secretariat or the OSCE, who should submit their response by 10/09/2018
